At roots, we support all learners in solidifying foundational reading, writing, and math concepts and skills. Our expertise in special education drives explicit instruction within differentiated small group and individualized 1:1 sessions. We are devoted to using the Orton-Gillingham approach to teaching reading and spelling to all learners with reading difficulties.

The small group size (5 students), and multisensory approach to explicit instruction allows students to explore foundational reading and math concepts and skills through differentiated hands-on learning. Working in a small group also enables students to build their social skills in a productive manner with facilitation.

The small group size (5-6 students), and recursive nature of the Orton-Gillingham approach to teaching reading allows students to learn and practice skills through differentiated, multisensory instruction. Students are able to build their social skills and gain self-confidence in their learning.

Learning in a 1:1 environment with personalized instruction may be the support a child needs to help close gaps in their learning. Tutoring sessions enable students to focus on academic skills at a personalized pace, working on solidfying concepts and previewing future concepts taught in school.
